Saying the words "Dyson" and "new launch" in the same sentence is enough to make us jump out of our seats and whip out our credit cards — seriously, this one's worth the grab.
Introducing the brand's latest technology, the Dyson Airstrait. It understood the assignment as far as mitigating the use of heat is concerned (a big hairdresser no-no). Both impressive and unprecedented, it’ll take your hair from wet to dry.
Much like the Dyson Airwrap we reviewed and love, it amps up the efficiency you crave when you step out of the shower. If you have hard-to-manage hair and you don't love how it doesn't naturally render into a pin-straight ‘do on its own, this powerful tool is worth adding to your wishlist.
Or, buying — because why not treat yourself?
How does it work? The Dyson Airstrait comes with three pre-set temperatures — 175, 230 and 285 degrees fahrenheit — and intuitively senses when your hair strands are between its arms and when it's not; when no hair is detected, it automatically lowers the airflow for "quieter, more efficient styling," per the brand.
More, its LCD screen boasts a high-definition color display that allows you to read the current airflow and temperature settings while you’re styling. It also features intelligent heat control, thanks to glass bead thermistors — located in the machine arms — to help regulate airflow up to 30 times per second, both to prevent heat damage and protect your hair's natural shine.
The Dyson Airstrait even works on dry hair to touch-up and refresh your style. To use on dry hair, select Dry mode and choose between the pre-set temperatures, depending on your hair type and preferred style.
The brand's Corrale straightener is ranked as one of the best hair straighteners we reviewed, though this buzzy new launch has a bit more revved up features making it a bit more worth the grab.
Though a splurge, its bounty of smart features make it well worth the cost. For instance, you’ll never have to worry about accidentally leaving your hair straightener on. With the Dyson Airstrait, it’ll enter auto-standby mode after five minutes of inactivity when the arms are left open, or three minutes i the arms are locked. That said, the LCD screen will turn off and you’ll need to press the power button to turn your device back on.
Smart features aside, you’ll love the way it glides — without pulling! — on your luscious locks. Especially if you love the look of a polished, salon-inspired blowout, this investment is worth making for every time you’d like to style your hair at home (because, after all, you won't have to worry about serious heat damage with this thoughtfully curated technology).
What's more, even though you’ll have to regularly clean and maintain the Airstrait's filter, tension bars and diffuser, it sounds harder than it looks. Inside your package, you’ll find detailed instructions Dyson has put together to ensure the durability and longevity of your new favorite hair tool for optimal performance.
Overall, we’re pretty jazzed about this new launch from Dyson, especially if you adore using your hair straightener. You can even smooth your hair with the product and ‘flip it toward the ends to create a 90s, Jennifer Aniston-inspired look. The possibilities are endless, and we recommend adding the Dyson Airwrap's new BFF to your cart.
